Climax, GA

That's the name of the town we live in. It's a small town between Bainbridge, GA and Cairo, GA. Everyday at 12 and 6 the church bells ring and or play a hymn one street over from our home. Climax is the highest point in Decatur County hence it's name. Anyway, my hubby the Chief is the police chief of our town, we live next door to the mayor and it's just a sweet town of "yester year". The home we live in was built in 1912 and is an old farm house, we have a small pecan grove adjacent to the property and we love it! We have a total community of about 300.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, Climax is most known for the title "Home of Swine Time". Yup, it's a pig festival. I asked the Chief what are the Swine celebrating (he didn't know) but we know this town LOVES pigs! So every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving is the Swine Time festival. We walk down to the morning parade and then walk the festivities until we are ready for funnel cakes and candied apples...It's a fun day for sure.
Yup, Kissing Pigs! Here comes Daddy! The Chief Leads the Parade!

Kenna chose the bungee as her "ride" (this...um, stuff is expensive)

Leaving our house to walk down to Main Street

We truly appreciate this town. It's hard to find small sweet towns, towns that you only read about or hear about!

Nuts Straight From 424 Madison Street....

Well, it's that time again. I am spending most of my day getting ready to head home for Thanksgiving. It involves laundry, packing, organizing and....BAKING. I am baking Pecan pies. We have a nice pecan grove and my Doodelbugs picked up the nuts and I spent several nights cracking them (not the fun part), and today I finally got to bake them. Ema and Gunner looked on while #5 took a short nap. I thought the pies looked beautiful!
With the leftover nuts we candied them and the Doodlebugs scarfed them right down, I still have my sister's cheese cakes to make(her b-day is Thanksgiving day) and I also have Aimee's mash potatoes to whip up too. I will do those at mom and dad's. I can't wait to get there!

Wonderful Day With The Girls

I had the most wonderful afternoon with my girls. This afternoon on the square downtown Christmas was all around. One day I will post about the sweetest little town I live in. Anyway, the girls had a wonderful time, shops were open and we walked the square and saw Santa and even one little shop did the girls make-up and all that girl stuff. When we got home they tumbled in leaves and played until they were frozen this evening. I loved being with them and really enjoyed the afternoon!
McKenna, Olivia and EmaIt's raining leaves!

On the square

Olivia really looks worried, and Kenna so wanted to sit on Santa's lap (NOT).

We had to physically remove her from his lap, he finally said and I quote "If you have forgotten anything, just have your mommy and daddy call me on Christmas Eve." They had like a 10 minute conversation, no joke!

So I caught a couple of little "cutes"and "adorables" on video and will post also. When you watch you will see my Ema (who is my singer and dancer) kinda has a "thing" for Santa. :-)

Not Me Monday...Post #5

  1. I did NOT have such a bad trip to Wal-Mart (doodlebugs gone wild) that during check out time a lady (o.k. stanger) from the next check out came over and offered to hold Doodlebug #5 so I could finish the process without loosing my mind...and I let her...a complete stranger...no NOT me!

  2. I did NOT almost drown Doodlebug #5 when I was wringing a bathcloth over his head and got slightly distracted and turned for a moment and wrung the hole thing over his face causing him to cough and scream....nope NOT me!

  3. I did NOT allow Doodlebug #4 to go all week without underware, because he just isn't "into" underware this week...whatever...nope NOT me!

  4. I did NOT seriously find myself crying at church on Sunday 'cause Doodlebug #5 pooped all over his outfit 5 minutes after we got there...and the reason I cried was because the boys were matching and dad-gum-it NO one got to see them...no NOT me!

  5. I did NOT hide some clothes in the "wrong" place at a clothing store until I could go back on Friday (payday) and get them...nope NOT me! (psst...they were still there shhhh)

Now head over to MCK for more NOT ME'S.....

It Doesn't Take Much

All he needs to make him happy is a little dirt and alone time!He was building a castle with a door he said .

Dirty Hands

So very happy. It really is the little things!

Well, he was happy until Mommy announced lunch time, which he turned down. So I let him play until nap time (which I DON'T bend on). Then that happy little boy became a the "typical" two year old. :-)

Oops I Did It Again!

I am truly having a great picture week!
~My Big Boy and Baby Boy Having an Early Morning Chat~

" I Love My Daddy"

Satisfaction

  • Are you satisfied with where you are. Do you wish you were somewhere else? In the physical sense we should all be satisfied with where we are, thankful for what we have. Dwelling NOT on the the things which we don't "have".
  • On the other hand, I am not so certain we should ever be satisfied with where we are spiritually. We should never settle with what we have, but ALWAYS want more. Want more, know more, do more.
  • Do I put enough into making sure I want (and actually go after) all God has for me? Or do I focus on what I don't have (physically) and want more of what I don't have.
  • I sure can see how it would totally benefit me to go after more of what I already HAVE, than to go after SOME of what I don't!

Tooth Fairy

My Super Girl (she was flying)
"HOLY SMOKES!" That's what Doodlebug #1 came in screaming and crying, "Look what Olivia did!" Blood everywhere. After I calmed her down enough I realized she had lost a tooth, one we were not expecting so soon. I asked her what happened.

She stated she was playing "dog" and was holding onto Doodlebug #2's shirt tail...with her teeth. Olivia jerked her shirt from the puppy's mouth and "POP" out came barley loose tooth!!!

What a surprise! So I don't know about your Tooth Fairy, but ours is great and always leaves a note. In ity-bity writing. BTW I just want to say , that one thing I love about Doodlebug #1 is that she is seven and still believes in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and has an imagination that just won't quit. Dressing up is still her FAVORITE thing to do. I just love that about her. Enjoy the video and picture of my imaginative 7 year old!

Not Me Monday...Post #4

I did NOT run Doodlebug #5 in to the door jam...not one but twice. Sorry little man!

I did NOT sing Christmas music at the absolute top of my lungs ALL WEEK LONG!

I did NOT on more than one occasion eat powdered dougnuts for breakfast and fed that to the doodlebugs also.

I did NOT find my Chief extremely sexy after he took the trash out, brought the cushions in from the loungers, and bought me baby wipes and a lint roller...all without me asking!!!! That was a great night! *WINK*

I did NOT wish the weekend would never end, 'cause fun was had by all!

I did NOT tear up watching my Doodlebugs in the yard with the Chief playing...(hormones anyone?).

Head over to My Charming Kids and read lots more Not Me's! Your NOT alone!

Mud Slingin'/ Butt Crackin' Afternoon

I try sometimes to be a cool Mommy, today at least I was!
I swear I have never seen them so happy.
I love the look on Doodlebug #3's face.

For Christmas, my Livie (DB #2) would like some hips please. The poor child can never keep a pair of jeans up.

Shortly after I snapped these, I went inside for a split second. Then I heard water. Yup, they found the water spout in the front. Mud pies anyone?

We ended the day with a stripping session on the front porch and a solid march straight back to the bathroom.

Do you notice who is absent? Doodlebug #1. My girl is too girly for mud!

Friday Thankfuls...

You know it's gonna be a good day when....
You have your boy-be (that's my nickname for doodlebug#4, 'cause he is stuck between being a little boy and still a baby) who loves his mommy to pieces.
Pucker-up! You get this everyday...all day! Anytime you want it!

And...You wake up to this, heaven in your bed...

Yes, it's going to be a GREAT day!! For all this I am thankful.

Yup! She's All Mine!

Ema Moore

I love you my sweet precious child, I do!

"This Really Sucks!"

That 's what I said in the car out loud.
  • Doodlebug #2- What sucks mommy?
  • Me thinking (crap)
  • Mommy- Oh, baby Mommy shouldn't have said that, Mommy should have said "stinks".It really stinks that Mommy needed to grocery shop, and now I can't 'cause we have to wait for Daddy and the groceries will go bad if I shop now, and then we have to wait. I REALLY needed to shop now, so it just really stinks. You shouldn't say what mommy said o.k.?
  • Doodlebug #2- O.k. mommy it really stinks, huh?
  • Mommy- Yeah, baby it does
  • Doodlebug #4- Mommy?
  • Mommy- Yeah, handsome boy...
  • Doodlebug #4- Mommy? Um, scuse' me Mommy...
  • Mommy- Yes son, what is it...
  • Doodlebug #4- It suck Mommy? It suck? Really suck?
  • (Mommy thinking.... "Crap. Now this really sucks!")
  • Mommy- Who wants candy!?
  • Doodlebugs #2,3,and 4- MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
  • CRISIS ADVERTED!

Courage And A Big Thank You

Ladies Weekend...part uno...

The canvas God had painted for us to enjoy all weekend! Grant and Mommy over a look out.
The wonderful group of women I spent the weekend surrounded by.

So I am so excited to share with you all the weekend I spent in Pine Mountain. I am gathering all my notes and trying to sort them out. If I may say so, I am still in awe of the love our God has for His children. The "theme" of the weekend was Embracing the Heat. What happens when you are in the midst of a fire? What do you do when you fall into the pit? How can you Embrace the heat you are in AND come through with victorious joy and "smokeless". It was great, good, wonderful...Can't wait to share!

Not Me Monday...Post #3

It's that time again...head over to http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to see more Not Me!

  • I did NOT while at the Olive Garden ask the waitress to bring more bread sticks three times and then ask for a bunch of to-go boxes, stating I was taking them home to the Chief and Doodlebugs.
  • I did not have to force myself to check on the doodlebugs this weekend, because I was NOT having so much fun and was thinking about them non-stop...
  • I did not tell the kids that the Olive Garden bag was for Daddy and then hid it in the back of the fridg...the way way back!

Sorry these are so lame, I will do better next Monday....

I Will Be Chomping At The Bit...

I am leaving tomorrow for the annual Ladies Weekend with CCC. I am thrilled 'cause I get to room with my mom and spend much needed time with one of my BFF'S (who I haven't seen since week one of baby G). I am sure I will be chomping at the bit on Sunday to check my blogs...but I am going to try and lay the laptop down for the WHOLE weekend!!!
Doodlebugs 1-4 are farmed out to wonderful friends and of course DB #5 is going with me.
My prayer is to come back nice and refreshed...have a wonderful weekend. I can't wait to blog to you all about it!

One Month Ago Today...

Four Hours Old...What A Gift!Four Weeks Old Today
Grant is still such a joy and a true gift from God. He was "Plucked" from the heavenlies and placed with this family. We are so very grateful that something so un-expected came to us. We are undeserving of him.

God Never Says Uh-Oh!!!

It hasn't been 5 minutes since my last post and look at what my Dad sent out. It's so very scriptural and true, as I felt also last night that I was still out of obedience called to pray for our new president!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to write a few things concerning our responsibility now that the election is over. Rex Price sent out an email this morning also and I do not know how many of you received it, but he too is on the right path. Thanks, Rex. I'll be using one of your scripture references. This will be short as I plan on saying more in a message the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Daniel 2:21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

I Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone --- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

However you may have voted yesterday, to me, our responsibility is clear according the the above referenced scriptures. I went to bed last night praying for our new president elect Barack Obama. It was right and scriptural to do. God is in control of it all. He never goes, "uh-oh". He is never surprised about any outcome.

And remember, Jesus is still on the throne. He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Amen? --- Amen.

Pastor Morris

A Heavy Heart...

Lord, what my heart and mind cannot comprehend today I pray you surround my thoughts with your thoughts.
  • The more I seek you, the more I find you.
  • The more I find you, the more I love you.
  • I want to sit at your feet, drink from the cup in your hand.
  • Lay back against you and breath, feel your heartbeat.
  • Your love is so deep, it's more than I can stand
  • I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming.
I trust you Lord and the plans you have for us. I choose to trust you ALONE!

A Gathering Of Prayer...

The Chief gathered our little family in the livingroom early this morning to pray for the counrty and the county we live in. It was a sweet moment to which Doodlbug #1 said I will vote for John McCain!!!

There is such an urgancy, locally here for men of wisdom and integrity so that was our prayer. I prayed in the voting precint also. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart...

Was It Something I Wrote?

O.K. my little "Follow My Blog" has been up for a week and not one of you have signed up? I am getting a mini complex, don't leave me out in the cold here guys...Follow Me!

O.K. I am begging...Please?

What To Do With Restless Toddlers...

You can always make a Hop Scotch out of the light coming through the french door window panes... Ours only went to 7, but they had fun anyway! Then you can make sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles...oh, I mean have some icing with a little cookie and sprinkles added in! :-)
So my little Doodlebug #3 has really been struggling with obedience, I have learned she must be busy to stay out of trouble (which is exhausting, for me.) She did better today and I didn't even put her in front of the t.v. which sometimes I tend to do... more often lately.

Not Me Monday...Post #2

Upon Doodlebug #4 coming in the house and smelling like gasoline,I did not only check his breath to make sure he didn't in jest and send him on his way...No Not Me I am way more cautious than that...I also did not, not blinked an eye when I realized he was trying to burn the ant beds like daddy. (minus the fire, I would have stepped up for that!)

I did not straight face tell Doodlebugs #1 and #2 that they could not play with the Moonsand 'cause I was sure Moonsand was from the Devil, and then when asked how I knew I stated 'cause I was equally sure Jesus would never create something so messy for all Mommy's to have to clean up. No Not Me...

On Wednesday I did not turn my nose up momentarily when I thought the carpet lady had terrible B.O. only to realize it was me! I then in no way at all run to the changing table...scrub down with two baby wipes and re-apply deodorant just in time for the alarm guys to show up. Nope Not Me!

I did not one two separate occasions, just tell the Doodlebugs to just wash their hands, feet, and brush their teeth, then I did not at all throw a couple of baby wipes their way for the "essential" places...and all because I was too tired to do baths x's 4. No Not Me!

Fall Festival...Hello November!

To get us out of the house last night we ventured off to church for a Fall Festival. The Chief of course stayed in town to watch over all the kiddies that were out in the neighborhood. So off I went, of course I had to snap a few pictures of the Doodlebug crew!
Doodlebugs 1-5...Goodness I love my sweet babies

For some reason I just love this picture...Gunner kept saying "I got him, Mommy." "I got him."

Precious, Sweet, and Loving

The kids were exhausted when we got home, and I was too. They bounced, played games, road a hayride, and ate candy until their tummy's hurt. I am still so glad Halloween in finally over...welcome November!!
